Hey. I'm Minna, a CSM Fine Art graduate and one of your elected student reps at Arts SU. In a university as big as UAL, making your voice heard is so important. The quickest and easiest way to do that is by completing your student survey. All students across UAL have a survey to complete right now. It only takes a couple of minutes, so make sure you have your say by completing your survey today.

Just a reminder that the survey is completely anonymous and, therefore, completely fine for you to leave any negative feedback that you may have that you might be a bit worried about saying directly to someone from your course. But also, remember to keep putting in anything positive in there because, unless they know something's working, they might change it or take it out.

Did you know that, when you join UAL, you also become part of Arts SU, your students' union? Not only does Arts SU run and facilitate clubs and societies, independent advice services and support services, it also helps amplify your voice to influence change.

When it comes to students' voices being heard, I really, really encourage you to take part in anything such as forums where you have to vote on student ideas, the Arts SU elections because who you vote in is going to be the person who's going to be carrying your voice for the next year.

All of the work that we do within the Student Union and within UAL is informed by student feedback. We cannot improve the experience of students, and we cannot change things if we don't actually know what needs to be changed. It's important to put your ideas on the Ideas Platform from the Student Union page where students from the entire UAL can vote. And then, we can implement those ideas as policy within the Student Union.

It's really important to us that students have a good student experience. We only know that if we listen to what students are telling us and if we have conversations. So we don't just want to listen, but we want to discuss, hear your ideas and concerns.

We want students to always take the opportunities to talk to their tutors, talk to their course leader, course representatives, student reps at course committees. And talking to their course teams are really important element of that as well. As course reps, we think are amazingly valuable, and we thank them for all of the work that they do. There are over 1,000 of them across the university and escorted by the Student Union.

If you are a student living in accommodation and you want to give feedback, the Halls Life team are here for you. We employ 30 student committee members that live in the halls and deliver events, well-being campaigns, and peer-to-peer support throughout the year. If you want to make a change where you live, then make sure you're chatting to your committee members. Go for a coffee or a chat or simply speak to them at one of the many weekly events.

There are so many ways that you can help make a difference at UAL. Be a part of shaping the future of UAL and make the change that you want to see. If we can come together as a student body, that's the best way for us to make our voices heard. I saw something that needed to be changed, and I went out there and made it happen. And do you know what? So can any of you. So make sure that you get involved and make your voice heard today.
