Careers support for students
Our team of employability educators provide regular extra-curricular employability support. We believe that everyone should be able to achieve their creative ambitions, regardless of their background or circumstances.
Most of our services and opportunities are open to all UAL students and graduates. Some may be limited to specific groups - we'll make it clear when this is the case.

Online support
Email careers-support@arts.ac.uk with your employability and initial enterprise questions. We can support you to review your CV, portfolio or cover letter. Or help you access employability resources.
One-to-one support
Student career one-to-ones
We offer 20-minute career one-to-ones during term time, Mondays – Thursdays.
Chat to us about identifying your creative skills and career paths or where to find opportunities. Get help about preparing for interviews or guidance about your current creative career.
Career Wellbeing one-to-ones
We encourage students to view employability holistically. On Wednesdays we offer Career Wellbeing one-to-one support to UAL students.
Get tips to confidently communicate your value. Or if you'd like to chat about coping with self doubt, interview anxiety or job rejection, we're here for that too.
Our employability workshops and events
We run regular sessions tailored to prepare students to join the creative and cultural industries. We support you to gain confidence in your employability and freelance knowledge. You'll also get access to useful employability resources.
Join a session to design your creative CV or prepare your professional portfolio. Book a "How to" session for practical tips: from cover letter writing, to maximising your LinkedIn or effective networking. Finally, Create Your Future sessions focus on career wellbeing to support your development.

Ruth Annett (she/her)
Employability Practitioner for Central Saint Martins
I design, teach and embed employability education within the curriculum. I use critical thinking approaches to support students with their self-development and creative practice. I draw upon my work as a writer/researcher, as well as my background in Fine Art Sculpture.

My role centres around our digital learning and teaching for current students. I offer student career one-to-ones Monday –Thursday, 11:30am – 1pm as well as Career Wellbeing one-to-ones on Wednesday at various times. I also develop digital learning via our social media platforms.
